Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is hiring a Project Manager to join our team. This position will be based out of Eaton Electrical facility in Western Canada. Candidates can work from either the Delta, BC; Calgary, AB; or Edmonton; AB facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,100 - $126,200 a year.

What you'll do:

Position Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for the use of modern project management tools and techniques to execute projects related to the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical power system modifications. Modernization projects will relate to the electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution industry with specific focus on industrial power systems, hydro-electric generation and renewable power.

In this function you will:

  • Uses his/her knowledge of commercial, industrial and/or utility power distribution systems to deliver projects with a high degree of professionalism and safety.
  • Responsible to complete his/her assigned project from project award and hand-off from Sales to scope development, planning, execution, management of people and resources.
  • Plans, establishes, maintains, and regularly updates a project schedule on assigned projects
  • Manages communication, and distributes documentation between Eaton and its customers
  • Reports, forecasts, and presents project financial activity to Eaton's management
  • Prepares, distributes, and follows through with project safety plan
    • With support of the Commercial Team:
    • Monitors, reports, and controls costs on assigned projects within estimated project margin
  • Create Purchase Order (POs) requisitions where required based on lead times and Project Schedules, tracking POs that have been issued and expediting as appropriate.
  • As a form of mentorship, supports other Project Managers in completing deliverables for their projects.
  • Individual must be capable of self-managing and directing a diverse team for awarded project(s) for a wide variety of turnkey applications. Focusing on construction type installations.
  • Support ongoing development and maintenance of Operational Excellence tools and processes including standard tools, QA/QC manuals and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Maintains professional presence at all times

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working with Power Management, Power Control, Mission Critical, or Building Management systems.
  • Working knowledge of electrical power distribution equipment design, installation and maintenance including medium and low voltage power circuit breakers, metal-clad & enclosed switchgear, protective relaying and control, medium and low voltage control is a key asset.
  • Utility, Industrial and Commercial construction experience for both greenfield and brownfield construction projects
  • Legally authorized to work in the Canada without company sponsorship
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license
  • Firm understanding of project management process and implementation
  • Ability to update and manipulate project schedule using MS Project

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Industrial Electrical Power Distribution Equipment Life Extension Experience

  • Cost Tracking & Financial Awareness
  • Construction Management & Safety Management
  • Bilingual in English and French would be an asset
