Job Summary

"The Project Manager's primary responsibilities are to lead cross-functional project teams on globally integrated new product development and transition programs. Projects will be executed within phased gated process framework.

The project manager is responsible for managing deliverables across the team to ensure delivery is aligned to committed schedules, cost goals and constraints, and product quality. The project manager communicates project status across the organization leading their teams to deliver project objectives in support of Eaton's Bussmann Division.

The project manager further advances the state of the art of program management and team excellence through meeting continuous improvement objectives."

Job Responsibilities

"A. Develops comprehensive program management plans to achieve objectives and meet commitments. Program Management Plan includes Scope, Budget, WBS, Schedule, Resource, Risk Management, Capital, Communications, etc.. Manages technology and product portfolio.

B. Executes effective resource management of allocated human and material resources. Responsible for working with Team members and resource managers to ensure allocations meet program needs and any gaps are identified and effectively mitigated or escalated.

C. Baselines the program, manages the requirements and considers the full business scenario to effectively control & navigate scope challenges.

D. Regularly monitors, communicates and controls program performance against plan, makes adjustments, and drives clear actions to address gaps.

E. Ensures that all members of the Program Team execute the program plan in adherence with standard phase gate methodology, e.g. PROLaunch, PACE, or equivalent phase gate process experience.

F. Understands risk identification and management; proactively mitigates program risks and takes advantage of opportunities.

G. Facilitates effective and clear communications with all internal and external stakeholders. Ability to deliver tough and/or critical messages in a transparent way with a go forward plan. Adjusts approach to match the audience and projects confidence along with the appropriate sense of urgency.

H. Develops key relationships across multiple functions, both internally and externally. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with decision-makers, while holding them accountable to their commitments. Recognizes when and how to elevate issues and secure help needed.

I. Understands the program business case and the financial impact of program decisions and performance. Manages and controls the program to the current business case.

J. Applies Decision Quality Framework when appropriate. Analyzes only accurate data and quality assumptions. Considers all stakeholder outcomes for the optimum decision. Balances analysis with timeliness of decision.

K. Effectively manages & integrates a cross functional, and possibly distributed team. Ensures proper team members are assigned, they work well together, logistical challenges are accommodated, and full advantage of diversity is realized."

Qualifications:

Qualifications

Education level required

"Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related degree

PMP Certification preferred"

Years and area of experience required

" 5 yrs of combined experience in product development, manufacturing, or engineering operations

3 years in project management

Experience in New Product Development (NPD) and Transition (STP) programs preferred"

Technical knowledge
MS Office suite, MS Project, basic accounting knowledge

Soft skills

"
Effective communication, presentation skills, problem solving, proactive, team building

*Proven Leadership skills - capability to lead change in an Integrated Team (IPT) environment across multiple sites and customers globally."
