Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Production Support Technician.

The hours for this role are 7am - 3:30pm

The hourly rate for this position is $19.80 per hour.

What you'll do:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Read and understand work instructions.
• Perform visual and physical inspection and use measuring equipment on component parts.
• Use of functional measuring equipment.
• Responsible for the quality of the product going to the next operation.
• Interpret and work from complex drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

• Identify non-conformances found during the inspection of component parts, and properly document such nonconformances in the DR System.
• Utilize small hand tools to remove metal shavings from the interior and exterior of machined parts.
• Operate small air, electric, or battery powered rotary tools.
• Marking of parts via engraving or etching techniques.
• Ability to read and complete inspection ledger, inspection check sheet, operation sheet, move ticket and discrepancy report (DR/DMR) and other paperwork as necessary to comply with Quality Systems.
• Notify supervisors when work received does not meet the specifications required by previous operators including paperwork requirements as observable.
• Performs operator defined 5S/TPM tasks as required.
• Return all tools to their proper location at the end of the shift and cleaning work area.
• Proper use of all tools and gages necessary to complete and to verify that all work performed to specifications as required.
• Subassembly operations such as installation of pins, plugs, inserts, bearings, and miscellaneous components.
• Perform minor pencil grinding, lapping, or repair work as required as required while performing the primary duties of the classification.
• Compliance to Manufacturing Self-Release Process (MSRP) and responsible for the quality of the product going to next operation.
• Interpretation of MRB dispositions and preparing parts for work orders dispositioned by the Preliminary/Material Review Board.
• Inspection of parts after they have been reworked or repaired to specified requirements.
• Interpretation of surface treatment requirements and preparation of shippers for routing parts to plating suppliers, and subsequent inspection of parts as they return from the supplier.
• Other duties as required within the job classification and duties of lower classifications.

Qualifications:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Prior work experience using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other handheld inspection tools.
• Prior work experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and detailed blueprints, including understanding dimension, tolerances, and specifications in accordance with AS9100/AS90102.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED required.

• Must have one of the following:

  • Minimum of two (2) years prior work experience in a manufacturing or military environment performing machining, assembly, test, or inspection work required.
  • An associate degree in a technical field such as drafting, designing,, industrial production, or manufacturing engineering technology.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
• No relocation benefits offered for this position. Only candidates residing within one hundred miles of Eaton's Jackson, MS facility considered for this position.
