Eaton's Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is constantly pushing forward and looking ahead, advancing electrical and instrumentation products in new and innovative ways. Eaton's GEIS organization manufactures over 100,000 products for NEC and IEC applications, including: conduit fittings and cable glands, industrial control and electrical apparatus, enclosures, industrial luminaires (including LED), plugs and receptacles, drilling and marine products, commercial construction, solar solutions, industrial and commercial cable tray, mechanical hanging components, and bracing products.

Eaton Corporation's GEIS division is seeking a Product Owner for Configuration and System Solutions; the incumbent must be located withing fifty (50) miles of Syracuse, NY or Highland, IL GEIS facility. Reporting to the Product Standards Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and optimizing the configuration solutions across the GEIS business, meets the needs of the users, and aligns with the overall business strategy. The incumbent will be expected to manage Bidman Pick Developers as well as SAP Variant Configuration Programmers/Modelers. The incumbent will be the bridge between the stakeholders and the developers to ensure the needs of the business are being met with the configurator solutions. There will also be oversight of system solutions such as Revit and other customer facing tools as well as driving product labeling solutions for the GEIS business.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you'll do:
In this role you will:
- Works with Product Line Managers and other stakeholders to establish a configurator solutions backlog of projects.
- Gathers and documents configurator requirements from stakeholders and users.
- Functions as a bridge between stakeholders and developers to ensure needs of the business and users are met.
- Directs and manages Bidman Pick Developers and SAP Variant Configuration Programmers/Modelers.
- Prioritize and manage the configurator backlog and ensure development of key features are developed first.
- Develops strategies for configurations for long term end-to-end solutions.
- Manage developers and programmers to ensure configuration features are implemented correctly
- Monitor and manage configuration process and tools to ensure quality
- Manage and develop other system solutions such as Revit, TOLBRACE, and product labeling upgrades for GEIS business.
- Communicate progress, risks, and changes to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain documentation of configuration, and other system tool processes, requirements, and changes.
- Analyzes implemented configurator solutions for opportunities for improving processes and implement changes to enhance effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Maintains a workforce of highly motivated employees with a morale that is conducive to high levels of employee engagement.
- Works with developers and programmers directly to develop and coach on best practices.
- Attracts, selects, develops, trains, coaches, appraises and motivates the product configuration organization while placing an emphasis building succession within the team
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management, or Business Administration from an accredited institution required
- Minimum four (4) years' work experience managing, developing, programming, or modeling with configuration tools
- Minimum of four (4) years work experience with Modern ERP system, Bills of Materials, Routings
- Minimum two (2) years of leadership of people experience
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP Variant Configuration Programming/Modelling Experience
- Bid Manager Experience
- Understanding of Manufacturing Processes
- Prior experience managing a remote workforce
- Experience running Agile projects
- BIM Experience
- Knowledge of Eaton's GEIS products
- Proven track record of building organizational capability and talent through effective recruiting, training, coaching, development and optimizing organizational structure
- Experience working in a global business environment
