Eaton's ES CRDS RESI Residential division is currently seeking a PLS Manager (Electronics).

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Supervises the daily activities and assignments of the design engineering team. Performs complex engineering relate assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/process/techniques. Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering test/products/equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Supervises the day to day activities of the design engineering team (Specialist, Lead Engineers, Designers- Drafters, E-Tools).
B. Delegates assignments to the design engineering team based on business need.
C. Reports status on design team assignments.

D. Supports and supervises the engineering aspects of cost out activities.
E. Ensures the proper design procedures and processes of the engineering team.
F. Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflict design requirements.
G. Coordinates project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion.
H. Review project-related documentation to insure its accuracy.
I. Assists in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design.
J. Provide technical soundness of design decisions and product changes to facilitate manufacturing, reduce cost, substitute material, improve quality and accommodate special customer needs.
K. Prevent and correct manufacturing issues that affect product function ability.
L. Plan and execute design strategies that minimize the implementation cycle time and cost.
M. Certification process coordinator.
N. Support to existent process.
O. Keep quality specification of existent products.
P. Laboratory test according to the product.
Q. Control and maintenance of deviation system.
R. Responsible of project development for products improvement
S. Responsible to generate reports according to the area.
T. Coordinate with other departments to maximize the use of information, skills and resources.
U. Work with manufacturing plants on plans, processes and strategies to accomplish a trouble free introduction of products into manufacturing.
V. Request capital as needed in projects
W. Use of PROLaunch on new product development and product line transfer.
X. Comply with EQS, Lean and Pro-Launch procedures and policies
Y. Assess and develop Haina new products development team capabilities.
Z. Manage R&D laboratory, build prototypes and evaluate samples of products under development.
AA. Conduct ideation events for potential new products developments and/or products improvements. Submit potential intellectual property.

2.1 - Responsibilities related to Health, Safety and Environment (EHS):

A. Execute 100% of monthly safety inspection, in coordination with the MESH Coordinator.
B. Assist to all EHS training assigned.,

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor degree of Industrial, Electric, Electromechanical Engineer (or similar careers).
a. Preferable: Master Degree
2. Minimum of 5-7 of experience at similar positions.
3. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
4. PC knowledge: MS Office, Familiarity with CAD tools - PROE, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent (and drawing interpretation skills), AS400.
5. Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control), Lean, 6 Sigma and ISO9000, Project Management.
6. Competencies: Thinks and Acts Strategically, Gets Results, Builds Organizational Capability, Demonstrates Leadership Style.
