Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Pads Tester - 3rd Shift.
The hourly rate for this position is $18.50 per hour.

Processes finished transformers through the electrical test system, performing all ANSI required test. Identifies failures and routes units to appropriate conveyor for further handling. Operates the vacuum chamber. Responsible for titrating 4 stage washer and maintains water levels. Performs duties of Transformer Assembler when not operating test station.

Job responsibilities
• Attend work on a regular basis
• Ensure compliance with Safety & Housekeeping practices, company policies and procedures
• Vacuum Chamber: Load, operate and unload vacuum system
• Titrate 4 stage washer and maintain water levels
• Conveys finished units to test station; makes proper connections of testing equipment by unit type; scans bar code to call-up and initiate test parameters
• After first station test completion, disconnects units from testing equipment, conveys unit to second test system, makes appropriate connections to test by unit type. Initiates test cycle.
• Closely monitors progress of unit through the various test stations to identify nonconformance.
• Monitors test data and reports any unusual variance to supervisor.
• Moves tested unit to exit station, disconnects, reviews computer screen for test results.
• Identifies and labels nonconforming units and conveys out of test center.
• While working as a Transformer Assembler, may perform some or all of the duties of work in the following work centers: Tank Break Down, casing, kitting, hoods and sills, coverbander and final assembly. Work includes such tasks as:
• Attachment/installation of component parts and sub assemblies to transformer tanks (e.g. leads, bushings, brackets, fuses, switches, nameplates, arrestors, labels, stencils, bands, etc.)
• Place and anchor core/coil assemblies into tanks
• Perform various hand assembly, fitting and adjusting operations of a repetitive nature
• Rework nonconforming parts and product
• Perform other operations as directed
Qualifications:
Education level required
- This position requires a minimum of a HS Diploma or a GED.
Years and area of experience required
- This position requires less than one year of relevant experience.
Technical knowledge
• Work from written communications including operating instructions (NFOI), production schedules, JSA etc.
• Uses a bar code scanner and manual and powered hand tools
• Operates a hoist
• May be required to operate an industrial lift truck
• Works in awkward positions including prolonged bending, reaching and stepping from one level to another intermittently throughout the work day
• Performs duties requiring a strength rating of "heavy" intermittently throughout the work shift"
