Eaton's PCD division is currently seeking an Operational Technology / Automation Engineer to join the team at our manufacturing facility in El Paso, TX.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

This role's responsibilities span two key areas: first, the deployment of automation technologies such as robots, cobots, autonomous mobile robots and material handling solutions as well to establish digital connectivity to monitor the performance and health of manufacturing assets. Additionally, the engineer will actively contribute to the overall deployment of other Industry 4.0 technologies, driving initiatives related to augmented reality, factory simulation, process control and traceability, digital work instructions, and additive manufacturing. The OT/Automation engineer will lead efforts to ensure the successful implementation of these technologies and contribute significantly to the advancement of the site's manufacturing capabilities.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Manage Industry 4.0 projects including automation, Digital core, IIoT, additive manufacturing, systems integration and manage project objectives and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional resources to execute projects - Plant Leadership, Information Technology, Operational Excellence, Production, Quality, Facilities and Engineering.
  • Work closely with PCS central resources and subject matter experts.
  • Leading activities of machine connectivity & data acquisition.
  • Work as liaison to divisional Digital Factory Engineer and Manufacturing leaders.
  • Assisting the manufacturing engineering team in the development, submission & approval of business cases for Industry 4.0 project opportunities.
  • Train key plant personnel on the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies being deployed to ensure successful adoption and achieve improvement objectives.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.

What will make you successful?

The ideal candidate has experience in reporting and data analytics, with proficiency in developing Power BI reports and dashboards, as week as advanced Excel skills, and SSRS or QlikView. Effective communication complex, technical subjects to all levels of the organization will be crucial. You should have a strong background in controls engineering, programming, additive manufacturing, and big data & analytics. Experience with IIoT platforms and knowledge of electric safety devices and reporting systems will be beneficial. We are looking for candidates who are diverse in their backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and who can bring fresh and innovative ideas to our team.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechatronics or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment including: lean tools, automation / IT project development, and capital projects.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of El Paso, TX will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, including international travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge on develop and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Understanding of machine connectivity, communication protocols & data management
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure & system integration
  • Ability to select/install PLC hardware/software and operate/maintain PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Eaton)
  • Ability to read & use wiring, connection, schematic, and ladder logic diagrams to troubleshoot control systems
