We are seeking an experienced MV Electrification and Application Engineer to join our team in Dubai.

What you'll do:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of MV Systems design principles, and applicable codes. Aware of Eaton's Medium Voltage Switchgear and Grid Automation solution. Responsibilities include designing, analyzing, and implementing Utilities applications. The perfect candidate should be currently working in MV switchgear manufacturer/OEM within UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify electrical systems/solution for Utilities application including equipment design/selection and Software implementation.
  • Professional in using EPLAN/similar software along with the advanced automation features like macros.
  • Preparing detailed electrical drawings submittals including General arrangement drawings, schematics, and bill of materials.
  • Expert in power systems studies including load flow analysis, short circuit studies, Arc Flash analysis, relay coordination using simulation software packages like ETAP.
  • Initiate and lead Engineering development & optimization activities including process/activities automation.
  • Able to engage with Consultants/PMCs and end-users for technical approvals.
  • Coordination between different internal and external teams.
  • Problem solving techniques including troubleshooting of electrical system site issues and provide technical support to End Users /PMC & Consultants.
  • Stay up-to-date on latest electrical codes and standards
  • Early engagement with End Users/EPCs & Consultants on project development and spec-in activities when required.
  • Close discussion with the Factories/BUs to ensure customers/projects requirements compliance.
  • Continuous collaboration with the Product Line Managers respectively to understand the product updates and tactics.
  • Engaging with the CSO's to understand more about the market dynamics and voice of customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputed institute
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical system design for industrial applications

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC other applicable electrical codes and standards
  • Proficient in electrical design software, 3D Modeling software is a plus.
  • Software Requirements:
    • EPLAN/ELCAD - Advanced Level
    • AutoCAD - Advanced Level
    • ETAP - Advanced Level
    • Microsoft Excel and Macros - Advanced Level
    • SAP - Intermediate Level
    • Python, C++, other Language is a Plus
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
