Eaton's Mobility Group has an opening for a Mechanical Designer who will be part of the EMIC (Eaton Machine Innovation Center) Team and will join us in Bosconero valves plant being responsible to design equipment and machines, in terms of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics. The activity is performed in strict and direct cooperation with the rest of EMIC team, especially the Automation engineers and PLC programmer, as well as the Machines Mfg Eng (for project requirements, automation and electronics) and Mechanical assembling team, and the external suppliers as appropriate.

What you'll do:

Machine Design:

Preliminary Project/Design

  • Initial sketches and data collection, Draft technical specifications and market research, Draft bill of materials and share with the customer
  • Final Project/Design : Prepare CAD drawings and schemes, Review with team and customers, Update specifications and bill of materials, Finalize project and estimate costs with SCM
  • Execution Project/Design: Prepare execution and detailed drawings, Finalize bill of materials

Bill of Materials

  • Continuously update and align with market technologies
  • Search for innovative solutions and use Eaton components
  • Ensure safety and compliance with EU laws and Eaton MESH requirements
  • Drive innovation in Eaton's machines

Supplier Interaction

  • Prepare and manage requests for quotation and purchase
  • Act as technical contact with suppliers
  • Provide technical support and data availability for Eaton plants
  • Support selected suppliers in execution, machining, and assembly

Qualifications:

Engineering Bachelor's degree (or Master's) is a plus, but not strictly necessary

Skills:

  • Preferred previous experience in technical offices and especially machine design and building, knowledge of machines, machine components, supplier available in the market, state of the art existing solutions
  • Strong technical knowledge of design and project definition, mechanical drawings, CAD-CAM, 3D design, Inventor and Autocad mandatory, pneumatics and hydraulics, software SPAC, automation and electronics (PLC knowledge, motors and drivers) is a plus
  • MS Office package knowledge mandatory
  • Basic knowledge of Eaton products manufacturing process is a plus (it will be in any case part of the development plant and initial training plan)
  • Knowledge of CE Marking and safety standards to be applied into design
  • Italian and English speaking
