Eaton's new campus for its critical power systems in Vantaa, Finland, integrates all current activities into a much larger site. Campus is completed by the end of 2023, and the 16,500 m² site will house research and development, manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service under one roof and will create up to 100 additional jobs.
As one of the world's largest manufacturers of three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), Eaton's expansion in this area is driven by strong business growth and the demand for systems that ensure business continuity. Situated in a prime location next to the Helsinki airport, the Vantaa facility will serve as Eaton's Critical Power Solutions headquarters and a center of excellence for data centers.

What you'll do:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you are going to work on the redesign and restructuring design of current UPSes, enabling manufacturing outsource and enhancement. You will also play an important role in supporting iur site expansion project in various R&D related issues (defining requirements, planning and execution).
Your primary focus will be on:
- Assembly design
- Cable and harness design
- Documenting related to mechanical, harness and assembly (BOM) design
- Manufacturing line Kanban box design
- Product cost optimization
- Manufacturing time optimization
- Analyzes and solves product and manufacturing issues
- Design for maintainability
- Design for safety
- DFSS tool utilization
- Package design and transportation tests
Qualifications:
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience
- Good understanding of manufacturing methods related to electrical assemblies
- 3D CAD software experience (preferably with Creo/Solidworks)
- Good verbal and written communications in English and Finnish (minimum B2 level)
- Ability to work in a project team and manage multiple personal tasks under low guidance
