Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Mechanical Busbar Design Supervisor in Sumter, SC. Relocation assistance is available for candidates that reside outside 50 miles of the Sumter, SC facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $93750.03 - $137500.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

Position Overview:
This position is the primary technical leader for the switchboard mechanical engineering team focused on busbar power distribution system designs for our customer orders. This person will be responsible for the implementation of continuous improvement and training activities within the department and expertise with the pertinent Eaton system software tools such as Bid Manager, MAPICS/AS400, VISTA, OMS and Design Automation. This position will be responsible for the support of specific customer applications and to provide leadership for direct reports within the Switchboard mechanical engineering team as well as indirect reports in multiple locations. Additionally, this position serves as an engineering resource to support related factory and field service issues.

In this function you will:
• Lead technical and managerial interface for all mechanical tasks, including planning, coordinating, maintaining and meeting overall project schedule
• Manage the development of conceptual designs based on customer requirements and factory capability
• Manage the team to perform system engineering tasks including interpretation of technical requirements
• Manage the review of engineering designs and drawings prior to release to production as developed by the team, in an effort to effectively control quality
• Demonstrate clear understanding of the full breadth of the switchboard product offering
• Support and assist the assembly teams in resolution of process and information quality opportunities
• Contribute to process improvements designed to reduce cycle time, increase front end efficiencies and improve information quality
• Administer performance management process and manage the career development of direct reports
• Foster an environment that promotes Eaton's goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement
• Adhere to all safety rules and procedures, including 5S requirements. Additionally, responsible for reporting unsafe conditions to appropriate management or MESH representative. Correct unsafe hazards and conditions. Timely closure of correction actions including inspections and investigations. Meet department MESH goal and attain at least 85% on department monthly MESH audit checklist.
• Foster an Eaton Quality System (EQS) culture and Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF)

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering, drafting, or design experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology from an accredited university
• Minimum of 2 years managing people or project teams
• Understanding of UL891, ANSI and NEMA Standards
• Comprehensive knowledge of the application and manufacturing requirements for Eaton Switchboards
• Leadership experience in a high accountability culture and metrics driven environment.
