Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Material Handler to join our Arden, NC facility.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.00 per hour.

What you'll do:

The primary function of this position is providing expertise in rack organization and material consolidation, along with the delivery from Receiving of material throughout the facility across multiple product lines. This position will require very strict control of inventory, high organization skills, and self-driven actions. This position will require the use of both marketeer and standup fork truck. Along with direct communication to other material handlers and product line supervisors and team leads. This individual will support the fill in for other material handlers across different product lines to cover vacations and sick days.

Essential Functions:
• Improve the overall organization and flow of material
• Provide feedback to planners and product lines on improvements to rack design for material storage
• Collect and turn in all cycled Kanban cards to correct Material Planner
• Complete Rack Audits
• Scan Racks for Stock Out
• Assist to manage Production Tower
• Work with planners to locate missing or mis placed material
• Use of AS400 to locate material as needed
• Recognizing urgent requests from Supervisors and production employees with immediate action upon those requests
• Ability to support the other areas of the Material Handing Team when needed
• Safely operate PIV equipment and adhere to added safety precautions
• Complete Daily Pre-Use Inspection of PIV equipment for damage or wear that would deem it unsafe to operate. Reporting any findings to supervisor or Maint. immediately
• Combine partial pallets at POU to keep shelves emptied for additional material, to ensure effective material flow
• Ensure right part in right location
• Load POU locations using FIFO methods / Spike Card Consumption to ensure oldest material used first
• Locate overflow material in the correct locations so it is readily available.
• Accurate transactions of overflow using scanners (once back in place)
• Cycle and collect totes and pallets for return to Receiving for re-use ensuring availability
• Use of CI to improve the way we stock and store material
• Ability to float into other positions of the SCM team as needed

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
• Must be a Certified PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) operator
• No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Waukesha, WI facility. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years' experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience with AS400 and vista
• Previous Shipping experience

Skills:

• Must be able to obtain forklift certification
• Must have proven track record of safe PIV operation
• Must be able to work effectively without direct supervision
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to climb ladders
• Must have proven history of safe work habits
• Must have Computer skills - AS400, Microsoft Office, Internet, etc.
• Must be a Self-starter
• Must be able to work and complete tasks with minimal direction
• Must be able to work overtime - weekdays and weekends
