Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Material Handler in our Greenwood, SC facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $43499.97 - $63799.96 a year.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

The Material Handler/Water Spider is responsible for is responsible for maintaining a safe and organized work area within Switchgear Modernization Operations Greenwood location, while adhering to the policies and procedures of Eaton; ensuring the DS Product Line, along with the Standard Product Line have material available for customer orders as needed. They will serve as a "water-spider" to ensure all production line material is readily available by reviewing, picking and transferring material from the storeroom to the point of use locations and ensuring the system accurately reflects quantities for the materials in those locations. The Water Spider will also serve as back up to the storeroom attendant, utilizing the Mapics/AS400 system for receiving, putaway and picking procresses. This postion will require the use of a forklift and will require some manual lifting/moving of material by hand.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DIMENSIONS

A. Maintain a Zero Safety Incident Culture while adhering to the Life Saving Rules of Eaton
B. Maintain 5S and housekeeping to prevent any safety concerns
C. Follow written and oral instructions, adhering to all company policies and procedures
D. Maintain quality workmanship, observe safety procedures, report any unsafe acts or conditions immediately to management
E. Maintain a kanban-like system for the DS point of use material for DS/DS II product line
F. Verify styles and quantities of jobs being received and/or picked, checking styles and quantities, as quality is paramount for this position.
G. Unload and stage pallets of materials in appropriate areas of receiving, utilizing packing slips, verifying styles/quantities, and receive purchase orders in the Mapics/AS400 system.
H. Report any discrepant deliveries to purchasing buyer immediately when items are received so they can be communicated back to the supplier
I. Participate in annual physical inventory, working with finance and supply chain to meet or exceed expectations.
J. Perform a twenty percent cycle count each month of the DS/DS II production point of use locations to maintain accurate material records
K. Perform daily checks of the DS/DS II point of use locations, transferring material from storeroom locations to point of use locations both physically and systematically to ensure accurate material counts.
L. Notify purchase of material shortages and/or low quantities for replenishments on a daily/weekly basis
M. Work with quality engineer to ensure any non-conformances are corrected by following the procedures established by EQMS and the quality council.
N. Flex to other work areas as needed or requested by management

Qualifications:

POSITION CRITERIA:

• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to work overtime on short notice
• Strong interpersonal skills with heavy emphasis on good communication skills (Oral and written)
• Strong mathematical skills
• Computer skills surrounding Microsoft Office suite, Oracle and Planner
• Excellent problem solving skills with a strong sense of urgency
• Position requires high level of concentration and close attention to details
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs, unassisted and throughout the day as needed
• Continous standing, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling
• Requirement to train and qualify for power industrial truck (forklift) license

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
• Must reside within a 50 mile radius of the work location; no relocation benefit provided
• Must have a valid driver's license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate's Degree in Supply Chain Management or a Engineering discipline
• Strong understanding of Vista and Mapics
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Recent college graduate
• Strong understanding of quality procedures
