Eaton's IS AER MSD is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician III-Space. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility.
Manufacturing technicians are responsible for performing assembly and test processes on aerospace hardware. Development of hardware, creating functional test setups, working with various high pressure gases, and initiating engineering collaboration to successfully deliver quality aerospace components and systems.
Core hours for this position is 6:00AM-3:00PM.
The hourly rate for this position is $28.32 per hour.

What you'll do:
Technicians are responsible for communicating and coordinating with the Production Supervisor regarding specific production needs (part availability, equipment, production status, and schedule updates) to ensure on-time delivery. Perform assembly and testing of production hardware within the confines of the systems and procedures and the certified operator system.
• Perform manufacturing processes on complex assemblies following written instructions.
• Detailed knowledge of pneumatic and thermal test requirements and equipment to evaluate aerospace systems.
• Experienced in the use of Pressure gauges, flowmeters, relief valves, and/or transducers to create test setups per engineering diagrams and customer specifications.
• Knowledgeable in complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies with a familiarity in component surface finishes and aerospace cleanliness requirements.
• Thorough Understanding of mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Skilled at diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical assemblies and high pressure test equipment issues.
• Ability to work on complex projects and/or products with minimal direction and knowledge to involve required support from Engineering or Supervision.
• Verify calibrated equipment, material with expiration dates and written instructions are up to date and accurate prior to use in production.
• Properly manage the traceability of numerous components to ensure assembly accuracy.
• Work in partnership with Engineering to Identify improvement opportunities, resulting in a decrease of lead time, cost savings, elimination of waste, or safety improvement
• Obtain and maintain Certified Operator Status following site guidelines
• Responsible for ensuring that compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.
• Assist Production Supervisor in training, developing and mentoring the lower level technicians on products, manufacturing processes and testing practices
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 4 years Aerospace manufacturing OR 5 years military experience OR 6 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Technology
• Experience with high pressure testing preferred
• Assembly & Test experience in a Space Systems manufacturing environment
Skills:
• Solid understanding of electrical equipment. i.e. power supplies, ohm and volt meters, oscilloscopes and data acquisition systems.
• Experience with precision measurement tools. i.e.: micrometers, calipers, depth mics etc.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) and ERP applications
