What you'll do:
Primary Function:The MFG Engineering Manager leads and directs Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, NPI, Controls Engineering and Process Maintenance teams, is responsible for coordinating process continues improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations to achieve operational excellence and variation reduction. Develop and executes a manufacture strategy to strengthen manufacturing processes, optimize resources and reduce overall cost.
Essential Functions:• Lead lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations and achieve operational excellence. Development/execution of strategic plans for implementation of ELSS in facility based upon lean assessment.• Conduct training needs assessment associated with ELSS. Coordinate and deliver required ELSS as appropriate.• New product development systems (PRO-Launch) team member for input of Manufacturing and design in shop floor overall Process.• Leads or facilitates projects or events such as shop floor and variation reduction Kaizens.• Implements effective measurement tools associated with continuous improvement and cost out. Contributes heavily in the identification of cost-out ideas and implementation of the ideas.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree in Technical Field with lean manufacturing experience.• Understands role of quality and variation reduction in driving operational improvement.• Expert in lean manufacturing system including training, planning and implementation of tools.• Understands supplier quality, tools associated with new product development and launch, quality function deployment, quality management systems (QS, TS) and cost of quality. • Position requires strong analytical skills and understanding of problem-solving tools/methods (six sigma, 8D, QOS and other) and Balanced Scorecard goal setting process.• Understanding of budgets and cost drivers.• Broad knowledge of product and manufacturing process.• Strong communication skills and comfort with facilitating teams/groups and working with all levels in the organization.• Negotiation skills and experience with suppliers.
Preferred:• Minimum of Green Belt in 6Sigma.• Perseverance and leadership to manage projects and drive for results.• Innovative mind-set and ability to facilitate team sessions.• Ability to plan, organizes and build effective teams, and motivate others.• Thinks and Acts Strategically.• Gets Results.• Builds Organizational Capability.• Demonstrates a Leadership Style.• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Functional Competencies:
Analytical / Statistical Tools & Methods is the knowledge of a wide range of problem-solving tools & methods, including statistics, combined with the ability to select and apply them to make data-based decisions to sustain higher levels of process or product quality.
ELSS Leadership competency addresses: (a) facilitating development and deployment of enterprise-wide Eaton Lean/Six Sigma strategies, resulting in implementation plans with SMART goals that are linked to business strategy and profit plans.
QUALITY SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITY• Perform activities according to the Quality policies (EQS).• Complete annual revision of functional procedures.• Active participation in Customer and Quality System Audits.
CONTINUOS IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY• Leading Continuous Improvement activities in my area of responsibility through the deployment and utilization of Eaton Business System policies and processes, such as ELSS. CIF, PRO-Launch, EQS and others as applicable.• Active participation in Ideas Program.• Identifies cost out opportunities and work with Operational Excellence department to execute cost out projects.• Attend training courses assigned.
