Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician. The core hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $33.11 per hour.

What you'll do:
Eaton is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes and participating and/or leading continuous improvement / cost out initiatives across the organization. Additional responsibility includes executing the organization's strategic plan consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements

- Responsible for assisting the manufacturing engineers in all areas of responsibility with primary focus on manual process checks, machining conformance to standards and the maintenance and documentation of work instructions
- Provide technical support and instruction for group leaders and operators on proper assembly techniques
- Maintain routing and visual work instructions
- Assist in the investigation of root cause for non-conformities and implementation of corrective action
- Assists in developing and maintaining robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices.
- Implements methods and practices to reduce variation. Demonstrates ability to understand source(s) of variation
- Promotes culture of continuous improvement and understands lean manufacturing techniques as they apply to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer's expectations.
- Identifies and eliminated 8 lean wastes.
- Other various duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Associate degree or 2-year technical certification in a manufacturing operations/skilled trades from accredited institution or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of one (1) years' experience in a manufacturing/operations or military environment.
- Minimum six (6) months experience in working with the lean tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred qualifications:
- Higher education degree in a manufacturing operations, skilled trades, or engineering from accredited institution.
- Three (3) years or more experience in a manufacturing/operations or military environment.
- One (1) year or more of experience in working with the lean tools in a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
Position Criteria:
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English.
- Good understanding of blueprints/schematics
- Good understanding of Microsoft word & excel
- Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
- Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
- Demonstrated experience and competency with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated experience with interpreting & applying blueprints/schematics.
