Eaton's Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Glenolden, PA facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes and participating and leading continuous improvement / cost out initiatives across the organization. Additional responsibility includes executing the organization's strategic plan consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develops and maintains robust, cost efficient manufacturing processe and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices. Must be mindful of process and test capabilities and reorganize organizational core competencies. Performs root cause and failure analysis as required.
• Lead cost-out events and promotes culture of continuous improvement. Applies lean manufacturing techniques as means to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer's expectations.
• Implements methods and practices to reduce variation. Demonstrates ability to understand source(s) of variation and identify impact of tolerance stacks in assemblies. Design and development strategies. Conduct designed experiments.
• Participates in concurrent engineering efforts and critical design reviews to minimize product development costs and maximize useful life of products. Conducts Design for Manufacturing and value engineering initiatives as applicable. Develops work breakdown structures as a tool to develop cost estimates
• Participates in new product development projects.
• Acts as manufacturing liaison for products from inception through shipment to customer.
• Develops and integrates new processes and methodologies as to provide competitive advantages for the business. Composes Capital Appropriation Requests (including payback and net present value analysis) for acquisition of equipment to support emerging and existing technologies. Trains associates as required.
• Assists leadership team and others in performing work load analysis and resource optimization. Extracts and manipulates data from ERP systems as needed
• Communicates vision of organization via verbal communication and actions. Interprets strategic plan for purpose of development goals for self.
• Manages multiple projects and delivers same on timely basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or currently pursuing with an anticipated graduation date of no later than June 2025 from an accredited institution required
- Minimum 1 year of experience using 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce models and drawings of assembly and/or machining fixtures is required.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Glenolden, PA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified six sigma green belt with applied knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variability.
• Computer Aided Manufacturing, MS Office suite, MiniTab, etc.
• Understanding and applied practice of lean manufacturing techniques - i.e. value stream mapping, continuous flow manufacturing, error proofing, set-up reduction.
• Understanding and applied practice of problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Gage R & R, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.
• Knowledge of manufacturing principles and technical specifications to support internal and supplier processes - i.e. metal cutting, tool design, e-beam welding, laser welding, soldering, anodize plating, leak decay, laser marking, paint.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variability
• Understanding of electro-mechanical assembly techniques
• Basic understanding of electronic testing requirements
Skills:
• Detailed knowledge of engineering design and product reliability concepts as to facilitate analysis of fluid dynamics, thermal dynamics, electronic circuits, etc.
• Detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques - i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc.
• Detailed knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variability - i.e. regression analysis, design of experiments, hypothesis testing, etc.
• Familiar with additive manufacturing techniques
• Thorough understanding of problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Gage R & R, control charts, Pareto charts, etc. Understanding of ProLaunch.
• Proficiency in various software applications - i.e. Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, MS Office suite, MiniTab, etc. Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point
• Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001, AS9100 etc).
• Knowledge of product and end user application/specifications, including product testing requirements. (design/process interface).
• Detailed knowledge of manufacturing principles and technical specifications to support facilities competencies - i.e. metal cutting, tool design, injection molding, welding, soldering, etc.
• Must be prequalified to work on defense projects, per the state department ITAR regulations. State department regulations are defined as: US Citizen, Green card holder or Political Asylum
• Ability to conceptualize and design fixtures for manufacturing proficiency.
• Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams.
