What you'll do:
The Data Science manager will be responsible for:
• Management and strategic direction setting for a diverse team of data scientists focusing on the design and development of AI/ML models to support Eaton's product offerings in Electrical and Industrial market segments.
• Provide technical guidance on the selection of data and AI algorithms based on the use case
• Overall execution of data science lifecycle from hypothesis definition, research, and model development stages.
• Deployment of algorithms to production to identify actionable insights for Eaton's customers thus delivering value to customers.
• Developing and embedding automated model operations for predictive model validation, deployment, and implementation.

• Drive software craftsmanship practices through the data science team ensuring software quality
• Provide AI/ML leadership and direction to Eaton's Digital transformation as it designs, builds, and deploys new digital capabilities across businesses and Eaton's value chain.
• Working across cross-function teams of data engineers, QA, and UI/UX to develop AI product development and deployment
• Working across Eaton's portfolio to ensure that the insights created from the AI/ML models are translated into action that makes a business impact.
• Build and maintain a collaborative and impactful external network to drive the continued evolution of Eaton's AI/ML competencies through learning and partnering.
• Drive the adoption of agile development methodologies, including Scrum, across the organization by ensuring the team lives agile values and principles and follows the processes and practices that the team agreed upon.
Qualifications:
- M Tech / PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Electronics or related fields
- 13 Years +
- Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Software Development
- Research and development, Technology strategy, Global Project Management, Team Management, Mentoring, Risk Management.
Skills:
• Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Electronics, or related fields
• 13+ Years of overall experience and 7+ years of experience in Data Science, machine learning, data architecture, and software development
• A passionate individual who is self-motivated, disciplined, self-assured, performance-driven, and passionate about digital, AI, ML, and data and its role in transforming businesses.
• A Proven track record demonstrates the ability to work with business and digital teams, understand critical strategy, and design relevant and effective AI/ML/predictive models that deliver significant business impact.
• A passion for mentorship, coaching, and the development of technical leadership across organizations
• Expert understanding of a programming language such as Python, R or MATLAB
• Experience with Machine learning frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and in taking people along so that they are excited to do something with/ the output of the analytical - which eventually creates impact for Eaton customers and its business.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership skills and ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff
• Experienced in New Product Development (NPD) programs with hands-on experience in managing Data science and data engineering projects
• Exposure to Software development lifecycles i.e. Waterfall, Agile and incremental, etc.
