Machine Operator (Specialty) - 2nd Shift

Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Machine Operator (Specialty) - 2nd Shift.

The hours for this role are 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

The hourly rate for this position is $17.00 + $0.50 p/h shift differential per hour.

What you'll do:

Position Overview:
Responsible for setting up and operating wire-winders, yarn winders and braiders to provide a braid on the Teflon hoses. Primarily working with Aerospace product.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Move materials and carriers based on work order and set up sheets to work station
  • Set up braider: string up carriers, loading carriers onto braiders, pull wire from carrier to hook, feed hose into the braider, set up layline printer
  • Operator maintain ultrasonic cleaner
  • Complete quality checks on braided hose, this includes pick counts, outer diameter and inner diameter checks and lay line verification
  • Place braided hose in crats
  • Strip and set-up winders, be able to perform daily maintenance on wire winder which includes tension checks, roller checks and break pad changes etc.
  • Operate oven to bake wire
  • Proof test samples of finished hose
  • Move wire or yarn from storage to work area based on router and work order
  • Use overhead hoist to lift spools of wire onto wire winders
  • Pull catenary to ensure wire meets specified quality standards
  • Perform duties relative to production in the assigned area and is able to operate all equipment and machinery in the assigned area.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Middlesex, NC facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • 1 year experience with computer transactions in ERP system
  • 1 year of experience working in aerospace manufacturing

  • Good problem-solving, prioritization and decision-making skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills/teaming ability

Working Conditions:
Physical Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions may produce some discomfort, e.g. exposure to moving machinery, noise, dust, heat, and fumes.

Sensory Attention

  • Almost constant need to give concentrated attention where multiple stimuli are changing quickly, and where two or more senses must be used in coordination.
