Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Machine Operator III - Career Path. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The rate for this position is $23.38 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. In this function you will:
- Understand and proficiently operate assigned machines/presses
- Troubleshoot various machinery problems
- Identify and tag tubs according to shop orders
- QC and document all parts run on machines
- Retrieve and enter data into SAP computer system
- Inventory components and supplies as needed to ensure efficient and timely production
- Keep work areas clean and safe
- Other various duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
- Train on the following:
- o Operate machinery and presses safely & proficiently
o Run multiple presses and changeovers / set-ups for multiple dies
o Accurately read, interpret, & produce parts from blueprints and shop drawings
o Identify different gauges and types of raw material
o Accurately read tape measure, scales, & calipers
o Identify and escalate safety and quality concerns to leadership
o Understand lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts used by Eaton.
- o Operate machinery and presses safely & proficiently
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Prior experience setting up and operating machinery & presses.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2-3 years previous experience reading, interpreting, and producing parts from blueprints and shop drawings
• 2-3 years previous experience identifying different gauges and types of raw material
• 2-3 years previous experience reading tape measure, scales, and calipers
• Previous experience working effectively and productively as a team member with minimal supervision.
• 1-year previous Forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
• 2-3 years previous experience doing changeovers / set-ups for multiple dies.
Skills:
Position Criteria:
• Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
• Able to lift and bend on a continuous basis
• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds with or without accommodation. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance.
• Previous experience training & leading others in team setting.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
• Exposure to cold/heat weather conditions due to shipping door usage.
• Ability to identifying and escalating safety and quality concerns to leadership.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
