Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services and Systems Division is hiring a Lead Power Systems Engineer to join our team in the Power Systems Engineering (PSE) group. The position is based out of our Kitchener, ON facility and offers a hybrid working schedule.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, power quality analysis, substation design and training.

What you'll do:
- Provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training.
- Manage assigned projects and job costs to perform work within budgeted cost estimates Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers.
- Provide technical solutions to customers that may involve equipment design or upgrades, testing of equipment, solutions relating to increase safety, reliability, or efficiency.
- Perform engineering design duties, which require application of engineering principles.
- Troubleshooting, and problem solving relative to power distribution equipment.
- Mentor or lead other engineers on projects including reviewing and stamping their work
- May design and conduct specialized training for customers.
- Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
- Ability to run large studies and projects unassisted.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Active P.Eng. License in any Canadian Province
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience working as Power Systems Engineer
- Experience using Power System modeling packages such as: SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, CYME etc
- Experience conducting Short-Circuit Analysis, Protection Coordination, and Arc Flash studies
- Must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- No relocation is available for this position; candidates must currently reside within an 80km radius of Kitchener ON to be considered
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering, preferably in Power Systems Engineering
- Advanced experience in multi-function protection relays, setting files, and logic files
- Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable
- Previous experience with Power Quality Measurements and Analysis
- Knowledge of engineering standards including CSA, NEC, NESC, IEEE and ANSI
- Electrical System Design (Substation, Distribution System, and P&C)
