Eaton's IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer - eMobility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $93750.03 - $137500.04 a year.

What you'll do:
Position Overview:
The Lead Mechanical Engineer in the eMobility organization will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of High Voltage Power Distribution and Protection Products (100V to 800V) for electric vehicle OEM's. These products will be new, innovative, intelligent, and will change how power is managed in future electric vehicles. You will work with customers to develop solutions that solve their challenges and help them understand Eaton technologies. Your solutions will comply with customer specifications and applicable regulatory standards like SAE, UL, CE, ISO, and IEC. You may also be responsible for leading internal engineering initiatives, developing new core technologies, or improving the value of existing products to the eMobility business.

• Drive and participate in requirements evaluation, design reviews and related product development processes.
• Using advanced computer tools, create and document product design updates driven by customer needs, manufacturing opportunities and or Eaton's supply base
• Support pre-production (prototype) product building, validation and evaluation
• Be a key part of the team during the deployment of design updates to sustaining products and new products during launch
• Generate (when necessary) product requirements specification from Voice of the Customer (VoC) input.
• Conduct testing of product changes and new products in accordance with standards and customer requirements to confirm conformance
• Launch new products following the Eaton PROLaunch stage-gate process.
• Investigate and evaluate new materials and their appropriate use within our product line
• Participate in problem solving work leveraging methods like 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why
• Lead and support team activities that create higher value products, benefiting both Eaton and our customers.
• Review and conduct computer-based FEA & FMEA analysis on new products to ensure their integrity and use the results to modify designs.
• Evaluate change impact to products, offering decisions on updates and work scope
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in new product development.
• Mechanical Design experience in CAD
• PLM Tool Experience
• Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship.
• Relocation is not available .. Local candidates only currently residing within 50 miles of Tualatin , Oregon.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Mechanical Design experience with CREO.
• Experience using simulation software tools to validate mechanical designs (stress, thermal, dynamics, tolerance stacks, etc.).
• GD&T experience.
• Working experience in the design of injection molded plastics.
• Working experience in the design of die cast parts.
• Working experience in the design of stamped parts.
• Background with automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
• Ability to generate tests and test plans to sufficiently validate product designs.
• Experience directing the work of test engineers and lab technicians.
• Project management knowledge and experience.
• Expected travel ~ 10% domestic.
