The Davenport facility has approximately 900 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace life support and safety systems components and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets
The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

Primary Function
This position is responsible for design and certification of Aerospace Air-to-Air Refueling systems. The individual will be responsible for leading integrated product design team on new product development through full life cycle management, preparing and reviewing project related documentation to ensure completeness and quality. providing technical expertise and guidance to team members and mentoring new engineers. Additional the individual will be responsible for coordinating development activities across multiple Eaton sites and divisions.
A successful candidate will need knowledge and have prior experience of Aerospace product development process at system and subsystem levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Lead small to medium integrated product development teams and projects through full life cycle management.
• Design and analyze complex mechanical assemblies for our Air-to-Air Refueling product lines.
• Develop system specifications and test plans to verify models for component or system characteristics
• Perform calculations, analysis & simulation needed to size and design pneumatic components and system.
• Capable of interpreting specifications and drawings
• Responsible for in house as well as off-site qualification test programs
• Work closely with suppliers on component and sub-system development
• Interface with customers as part of development-team programs
• Work within team to develop predictive models, system/component models and run simulations
• Provide innovative ideas for improvements to existing products
• Participate in ideation for new products and technologies
• Provide technical expertise to support Manufacturing, Field Support Engineers, and customers
• Evaluate suitability of current products for new applications; work with team to develop bids and proposals for new, modified or upgraded products

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 5 or more years engineering experience
• Experience with analysis, problem solving, and conducting root-cause/corrective action analyses
• Experience writing technical reports
• Experience with Microsoft Office products like Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited program.
• Desire to become expert in modeling software.
• Knowledge of Pro-E.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink.
• Experience in writing test plans, procedures, and reports.
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
• Creativity, initiative, and self-starter desired.
• Strong communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and presentation.
• Leadership skills with strong customer presence.
• Structured and systematic problem solving techniques and DFSS.
• Failure analysis and prediction techniques a plus.
• Ability to demonstrate analytical problem solving
• Model-Based Systems Engineering, SysML, and CAMEO SW experience.
• Working knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) principles.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams.
• Good technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
