The expected annual salary range for this role is $99749.97 - $146299.96 a year.

Job Summary
The primary role of the candidate will be to lead and assist in current projects involving development of printed, flexible and hybrid electronics, print characterization, SMT component attachment, part testing, and failure analysis. The candidate will work in support of new product development and internal research and development projects

Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate technical leadership in area of printed, flexible and hybrid electronics.
- Specify, plan and oversee analytical and experimental work in the printed electronics lab
- Perform hands-on design, analysis and experimental work as needed to demonstrate technical feasibility.
- Identify and work with external technology sources including academic institutions, consultants, test labs, material suppliers, and material processors to qualify or develop the proposed technologies.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with R&D, product engineering, manufacturing, marketing and Business Units globally and cross functional team to deliver on technical concepts and capabilities to drive business growth.
- Ability to be self-directed. Driving and delivering on multiple project tasks with prioritization while maintaining focus on key milestones and goals
- Work with other corporate and divisional staff to define future research and technology development efforts.
- Compile and interpret analysis and test results providing conclusions, recommendations, and inputs for other engineers and management to act upon.
- Write and present project funding proposals including government contract and/or grants.
-Work effectively with diverse and remotely located global teams.

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

• PhD in Materials, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or relevant Engineering degree ... or ....MS degree in Materials, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Engineering or relevant Engineering degree with 2+ years of professional experience in Electronics.

• Previous experience with printed, flexible and/or hybrid electronics.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

• Candidate must currently reside within 50 miles of Southfield, Michigan. Relocation is not available.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands on experience of Screen printing and direct ink writing (nScrypt or similar)
• Design experience of electrical schematics and layout for flexible hybrid electronics.
• Hands on experience of SMT component attachment on PCBS and flexible printed electronics.
• Create and prepare PowerPoint, word and excel documents to communicate project progress with the stakeholders .
• Must be comfortable working in a cross-disciplinary, team oriented atmosphere.
• Communicate with current suppliers and identify new suppliers per projects' needs
• Manage day to day lab activities.
• Communicate with current external testing labs, analyze data, and make reports .
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with R&D, product engineering, manufacturing, marketing and Business Units globally and cross functional team to deliver on technical concepts and capabilities to drive business growth.
• Self-directed. Driving and delivering on multiple project tasks with prioritization while maintaining focus on key milestones and goals
• Worked with other corporate and divisional staff to define future research and technology development efforts.
• Compiled and interpreted analysis and test results providing conclusions, recommendations, and inputs for other engineers and management to act upon.

• Verbal and written English skills to effectively communicate within Global teams and external resources.

Skills:
