Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer. This role is located at our Moon Township, PA facility and offers a hybrid working schedule. Relocation assistance is also available!

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

We are seeking an innovative problem-solver to design embedded electronics for power electronic circuit breakers for the Assemblies and Residential Solutions Business. You will have the opportunity to work with a newly formed Advanced Technology team to develop and design intelligent electrical devices for circuit protection and energy transition. You will work with a team of dedicated and diverse engineers and experience the excitement of bringing new products to life from design concept through to production launch. You will be responsible for the design and development of embedded electronics for Eaton's family of circuit breakers. This includes creating functionality related to electronics, embedded firmware, protection, metering, communications, and supporting hardware.

What you'll do:

  • Perform complex embedded and electronics design and testing tasks relating to both hardware and firmware.
  • Plan work in detail at individual level, create a robust and trackable plan, coordinate with the larger development team, including requirement definition and issue tracking.
  • Review own work as well as others work in formal design and quality reviews.
  • Tests own work or work of others, meeting quality and reliability goals.
  • Develop a high level of technical expertise in embedded electronics design and over time become a SME.
  • Provide domain expertise to product support personnel to solve field issues.
  • Perform and contribute to technical research and investigations.
  • Contribute to and generate value added intellectual property.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, or computer engineering from an accredited institution
  • Five (5)+ years relevant experience developing embedded electronics
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with supporting the transition of designs into a production environment
  • Experience with C and C++
  • Experience with wireless communications systems, such as Bluetooth, WiFi, and Zigbee/Matter
  • Experience with embedded firmware in 8 bit through 32 bit microcontrollers (e.g. ARM Cortex, PIC)
  • Experience with Real-time Operating systems
  • Experience in developing device drivers and hardware bring-up

Skills:

  • Proficient with circuit design and schematic capture tools, specifically Altium
  • Experience with bus communications: USB, Modbus, CAN, Ethernet
  • Experience writing and performing detailed test plans
  • Experience in using Digital Oscilloscope, logic analyzers, and similar tools
  • Enjoys hands on work and has experience with lab equipment and safety
