The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you'll do:

Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) division is currently seeking a Lead Design Engineer. This is a Remote position for candidates based out of 50 mile radius of Eaton's local District Operations Centers located in Seattle/Portland/San Diego/Salt Lake City/Phoenix/Denver

What you'll do:

Eaton's Project Operations Team provides comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services throughout the entire project lifecycle. Our team is committed to delivering reliable and efficient turnkey services while ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project journey. Our turnkey solutions encompass various stages such as project conception, specification development, engineering design, equipment procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning. With a single point of accountability, our team specializes in handling both greenfield and brownfield turnkey projects and has expertise in designing and constructing high and medium-voltage substations and developing power distribution solutions for utilities, government, data centers, industrial, and commercial facilities.

As a Lead Design Engineer, you will provide design engineering services instrumental to the completion of turnkey projects.

In this role, you will:

• Lead medium/high voltage designs for Substations and MV power distribution projects.

• Participate in site walk-downs to assist in developing proposals for new work in the region.

• Develop engineering estimates, scope of work, and review technical documents.

• Responsible for developing drawing packages which include:

o Equipment Specifications

o Single line/Three-line drawings

o Schematics/Wiring/Interconnection diagrams

o General arrangement drawings

o Conduit/cable plans

o Grounding drawings

o AC/DC control power drawings

o SCADA and Communication design

o Equipment Testing Procedures/Commissioning plans

o Various Power Engineering calculations

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution

• At least 8 years of design experience

• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of one of the following locations: Seattle/Portland/San Diego/Salt Lake City/Phoenix/Denver. No relocation will be offered for this position. Active Military Service candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineering license

• Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA, IEEE standards

• Understanding of power system studies including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash

Skills:

Skills to produce the following:
• Equipment Specifications
• Single line/Three line drawings
• Schematics/Wiring/Interconnection diagrams
• General arrangement drawings
• Conduit/cable plans
• Grounding drawings
• AC/DC control power drawings
• SCADA design

Position criteria for this role include:
• Ability to lead medium/high voltage designs for both substations and MV power distribution
• Participate in site walk downs to assist in developing proposals for new work
• Develop engineering estimates to develop scope, budget, and review technical documents
• Ability to develop and maintain schedule/budget
• Ability to work with and mentor other engineers on team
• Understanding of power system studies including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash
• Knowledge, understanding, and execution of turnkey projects
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA, IEEE
