Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Lead CMM Programmer. The hourly rate for this position is starting rate: $35/hr per hour. The hours for first shift are as follows; 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

Eaton Aerospace Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division is currently seeking a Lead CMM Programmer to join our team. This position is based at our Grand Rapids, MI location.

Position Overview:
Reports to the Quality Manager. Operates and programs the Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) as well as Non-Contact Measuring Machine (Keyence). Will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining CMM programs to ensure the highest quality standards. Inspects product using all other forms of inspection including but not limited to manual layout, caliper, and micrometer checks, plug and pin gage inspection, etc. with proficiency. Performs tasks using Windows based software such as Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Word. Evaluates product compliancy through proper understanding of blueprints and GD&T.

In this function you will:
• Operate and program the CMM's using the current software (CMM Manager).
• Operate and program the non-contact measuring machine (Keyence).
• Inspects product per blueprint requirements in accordance with the current quality procedures both manually as well as using the DCC measurement systems.
• Evaluates product compliancy through a thorough understanding of blueprints and GD&T
• Prepares and completes First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102 requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to create accurate measurement programs and control plans.
• Provides support for metrology inspection of tools and measurement equipment.
• Assist the Quality Engineering team in Gage R&R's, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Product Gap Analysis.
• Complete cost estimates for capital expenditures related to CMM and other measurement tools and equipment.
• Conduct Assembly Floor Layer Process Audits.
• Interacts with customers as needed to ensure customers, stated and unstated, needs are met fully.
• Update Control Plans based on the drawings, specifications, and Eaton and industry standards.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, measurements, and quality reports.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve measurement-related issues.
• Train on CMM basics, inspection tool use, and surface layout as needed.
• Provides support to the High-Performance Work Teams and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution AND Minimum of 10 years' experience in manufacturing/quality environment OR a Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited institution AND 5 years' experience in a manufacturing/quality environment.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience running/programming DCC Machines using CMM Manager or any similar DMIS based software.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids, Michigan will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of AS/ISO/IATF Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Previous internal QMS auditing experience.
• Experience working with suppliers directly.
• Experience working with external customers.
