The salary for this role ranges from $20.77 - $34.62 per hour (depending on your year in school).

What you'll do:
The New Product Development (NPD) Engineering Intern is an integral part of the Switchgear NPD Engineering team, which is responsible for the development of new overhead and underground medium voltage reclosers, fault interrupters, and switches.

Working alongside experienced engineers, the Engineering Intern performs engineering analyses, creates detailed designs, executes prototype builds, and develops verification tests - all contributing to the overall execution of NPD projects and functional initiatives.

In this role you will:
• Develop, sustain, and improve product design and product definition data.
• Learn and perform engineering analysis and digital simulation leveraging advanced tools.
• Support production and manufacturing engineering with prototype and pilot builds.
• Collaborate with global design and manufacturing teams.
• Develop sub-system verification tests which include designing and developing custom fixtures.
• Learn and utilize Design for X techniques to drive design optimization.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Actively enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited institution with a graduation date no earlier than December 2025.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8 or above.
• No relocation is offered for this position. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the South Milwaukee, WI site.
• Able to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior internship or co-op experience
• Minimum GPA of 3.2 or above.
• Experience in 3D modeling.
• Hands-on experience building prototypes or other equipment.
