Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Intern.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.77 - $25.96 per hour.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position provides environmental, health, safety, and security to EESS division operations. Position is responsible for: completing EHS administrative work as assigned, assisting EHS Regional Manager(s) in day-to-day tasks, revising EHS programs, developing training material, executing training to audiences in-person and virtual, assisting in incident review including causal factors and corrective actions. Occasional travel with EHS Regional Manager(s) to project locations and in-person meetings will be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Facilitates risk assessment at locations to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
• Attends internal EHS meetings to discuss and plan on needed projects/objectives.
• Assists EHS Regional Managers with pre-qualifications, customer EHS questionnaires, and associated EHS related documentation.
• Assist Regional EHS Manager in managing Eaton's Contractor EHS management program.
• Create content for monthly EHS all-hands meetings training.
• Present EHS topics to field service workers on monthly EHS training sessions.
• Develop additional EHS training material as required.
• Assist EHS Regional EHS Managers in monitoring of indicators/metrics. Conduct communication with operational leaders to address indicator/metrics gaps.
• Occasional project visits with Regional EHS Manager(s) for site EHS observations and face-to-face meetings.
• Assist in development of Human Organizational Performance Tools.
• Assist in incident investigations including causal factors and corrective actions.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Actively enrolled in or received a bachelor's or master's degree program in Environmental Health & Safety or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
• No relocation is provided for this role. Candidate must be residing within 50 miles of Moon Township, PA or Warrendale, PA.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene program from an accredited institution
• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
• Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community
• Prior EHS internship experience
• Completed coursework in Construction Safety, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene
• Completed OHSHA 30 Certification and First Aid CPR Training
• Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
