Eaton's EPG CPD Circuit Protection Division division is currently seeking an Embedded Electronics Engineering Intern.

The hourly rate for this position is $22.15 - $41.54 per hour.

What you'll do:

Essential Responsibilities

  • Are you passionate for innovation and disruptive technology? Our Engineering and Technology Internship Program may be for you! Over the course of this 12-week paid internship, students will engage in projects that hold tangible significance for our business while receiving guidance and mentorship from Eaton's esteemed leaders.
  • This internship will provide exposure to a combination of hardware and software product development support opportunities. Assignments will be supporting solid state and hybrid circuit protection technology development as part of the newly formed Advanced Technology team in Eaton's Protection, Control and Solutions Business. Our strategic teams in this area are working on cutting edge technologies including:
  • Development of embedded hardware for power distribution products
  • Firmware and software development for micro-controllers
  • And more!

Additional Notes about Location

  • Eaton's Cherrington location in Moon Township Pennsylvania is the headquarters for Electrical Sector's Americas region, and is located a few minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport and about 20 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. The Cherrington building is an attractive modern location housing several hundred employees and has state of the art engineering labs and administrative offices, as well as a great cafeteria and fitness center. It is also about 20 miles from the Beaver, PA manufacturing plant. Pittsburgh is one of America's most livable cities, with great entertainment, history, culture, sports teams, and outdoor recreation.
  • The Advanced Technology team in PCS focuses on new technology and product development to support organic growth of its core product lines in LV and MV circuit breakers. The team works closely with PCS multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural globally distributed teams and external technology resources (National Labs and Universities) on power electronic based circuit breaker technology. Eaton is a leader in both LV and MV industrial circuit breakers which are critical for Eaton's success in the global industrial power distribution market.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in or received a bachelor's or master's degree program in electrical or electronics engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer science from an accredited institution
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8
  • Relocation is not being offered for this position, candidate must reside/attend school within 50 miles of Moon Township, PA.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in embedded systems and exposure to software languages including C++, Java, and/or Python
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
  • Hands-on experience in circuit board design, debugging and testing
  • Prior internship or co-op experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community
