Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a CI and EHS Intern.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS


  • Develop all required CI documents such as completing the Standard Work inventory based on ECIS (EATON Continuous Improvement System) and EATON OpA requirements.
  • Develop digital work instructions supporting EATON Industry 4.0 in manufacturing setting.
  • Support EATON MESH (Management System of Environment, Safety and Security, Health) Program scores by compiling and creating the required EHS documents.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the required documents according to ECIS, OpA and MESH requirements.
  • Participate in Industry 4.0 for developing digital work instructions for Standard Work requirements of ECIS
  • Assist on closing any program and project actions from ECIS, OpA and MESH.
  • Carry out any Process Check and Gemba Walk on the shop floor collaborating with all employees to brainstorm ideas for problem-solving in order to mitigate and eliminate any risks.
  • Conduct workstation and site-level risk assessment such as ergonomic risk analysis.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly when providing any group training and implementing any change.
  • Support all continuous improvement activities including developing digital checklist, reports and visual controls, as well as supporting the 5S+ activities.
  • Coordinate with all department, project managers and external contractors for all the Vendor administration requirements including permits, finances, and scheduling.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a College or University program in Engineering, Science, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing and Automation.
  • This position does not offer relocation. Candidate must live within 80km of Edmonton.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior internship or co-op or industrial experience an asset.

Position Success Criteria:

  • Effective time-management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace of environment.
  • Ability to deal with/manage conflict and resistance to change.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented in data collection and creating professional documents.
  • Only qualified candidates will be selected for an interview and priority will be given to students returning to a post-secondary program the following term.
