The hourly rate for this position is $39.00 - $58.50, generally starting at $41.00 an hour per hour.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Reports to the Quality Control Manager. Responsible for inspection activities of incoming and/or in-process inspection personnel and for providing assistance in the interview and hiring process, orientation, training, work schedule, assigning work, setting goals and objectives, mentoring, motivating, and evaluating performance of Inspectors to ensure adherence to company, and customers' quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinates the inspection (Incoming and/or in-process) of highly complex; closed tolerance aerospace precision machined components and/or assemblies (visually and dimensionally).
  • Coordinates proper review and acceptance of paperwork and documentation used in the acceptance of product and ensures that data processing/move transactions are performed correctly.
  • Coordinates appropriate cross-training of precision measurement equipment such as, but not limited to, surface plates, optical comparator, surface plate, contracer, CMM, etc.
  • Maintains appropriate geometrical tolerancing and dimensional measurements and AQL sampling selection per internal procedures, or as directed by customers.
  • Coordinates proper execution, review, and approval of first article inspections per AS9102 standard.
  • Provides proper support to suppliers and internal/external customers in the communication and investigation of issues.
  • Guides inspection team to ensure FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), DFAR (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation), and Nadcap requirements are met.
  • Responsible for shift schedule to include: work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, meetings, and shift rotations.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment, and techniques.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of equipment and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the achievement of company and department goals and objectives.
  • Serves as a focal point to communicate and resolve issues with other teams.
  • Escalates issues which cannot be resolved by the team.
  • Provides guidance to the team based on management direction.
  • Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
  • 5 years minimum experience as an Aerospace inspection Lead person; or equivalent combination of education and experience in leading teams.
  • Relocation is not offered for this role. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile distance of the Los Angeles, CA facility (zip code 90039) to be considered.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
