Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Indirect Buyer. This position is located at our Indianapolis, IN distribution center.
The Indirect Buyer is responsible for purchasing activities within Eaton's aftermarket automotive distribution center. This position will interact with multiple departments within the site and focus on identifying, managing and ensuring uninterrupted supply for indirect material at optimum cost and quality. This role will also serve as support / backup role to the site material planning team. Additional activities will include working on cost out projects with team members and driving compliance to corporate SCM objectives
The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What you'll do:
- Become proficient with internal Order Tracking Process taking order ques from this system, will be responsible to load system with accurate data on purchasing actions for tracking purposes
- Identify the appropriate supplier to quote parts based on part type as well as manage procurement of internal Eaton components. Process RFQs preparing analysis for requestor to approve cost and timing
- Apply skillful negotiations with internal and external suppliers; conducts problem resolution and settles disputes; develops win/win solutions and creates positive relations with tact and expert judgment.
- Issue Purchase requisition and submit PO with all Eaton Terms and conditions clearly noted to supplier. Resolve all errors in AP interface, receiving as well as any invoice holds with suppliers.
- Primary Eaton interface for coordination between site and suppliers. Responsible for assuring best price and time are achieved to meet project objectives. Resolve any dispute with supplier and manage vendor priorities based on all work in que for varies business where there are shared vendors.
- Handle all suppliers add change request per SCM policies.
- Work on assigned projects beyond prototype buying. Be responsible for some level of cost out goals and assuring compliance to SCM initiatives driven by corporate purchasing.
- Assist with expediting direct material from intercompany locations to ensure no stock outages.
- Daily reporting of site KPIs related to delivery.
Qualifications:
Required Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum one (1) year experience in business, manufacturing and/or distribution (inclusive of co-op, internship or work experiences)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship both now and in the future
- No relocation is available for this position. Candidates within a 50 mile radius of Indianapolis IN will be considered. Active Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering and/or Finance
- Three years or higher in business, manufacturing and/or distribution
- Experience with ERP (Oracle preferred)
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI
Skills:
- Knowledge or experience in basic purchasing policies and procedures
- Knowledge or experience with SCM Program and Commodity Management functions
- Knowledge or experience with supply base management
- Strong Communication and Presentation Skills
- Knowledge and skills in Oracle MRP, JIT, Six Sigma, Lean Mfg., Kan Ban, Vendor Managed Inventory, and consignment
