We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Business Development to join our Electrical business and drive our growth objectives in the ANZ region. As the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for motivating and leading a team to identify and harness long-term value for prospective Eaton customers in both existing and new markets. This role is pivotal in executing our overarching strategy and achieving our business growth objectives.

What you'll do:

The primary function of the Business Development Manager Leader role is to motivate a team of Business Development Managers to identify and harness long-term value for prospective Eaton customers in exisiting or new markets to achieve the ANZ business' growth objectives. The role is designed to galvanise the team to execute the overarching strategy.

Sales Vision & Strategy:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the BU to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth within identified segment or region.
• Support the team to identify and prospect new business opportunities through various channels, including networking, cold calling, and industry events.
• Stay informed of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market conditions to identify opportunities for growth.

Customer Engagement:
• Maintain own strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at potential customer organisations and step in to support the team when required.
• Support team to present compelling proposals and presentations tailored to the specific needs of prospective customers.
• Lead contract negotiations, ensure mutually beneficial agreements that align with Eaton's company objectives.

Collaboration:
• Work closely with internal teams including marketing, product management, project management and engineering, to ensure a seamless customer experience and the BD team throughout dealings.

Team Leadership:
• Drive accountability with BDMs to demonstrate the expected Eaton behaviours to deliver on their sales and margin targets.
• Ensure the maintenance and review of accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and pipeline management using SalesForce.
• Hold team accountable to follow sales cadence to execute the annual plan.
• Attract and select the talent needed to meet current and future business needs
• Act as a coach and motivator to help employees develop and meet their career goals
• Build a pipeline of high performing and diverse product management team that apply their skills and different perspectives
• Develops followership with subordinates and peers

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering Degree or Trade Certificate; MBA
  • 15+ years minimum, preferred in the electrical industry
  • Knowledge and experience in power distribution solutions and services in ANZ electrical market - MV / LV switchgear
  • "A strong consultative sales leader with the ability to have value-led conversations.
  • The ability to drive complex bids, RFP and RFQ's.
  • Strong business / commercial acumen.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport across various levels of customers.
  • The ability to build relationships within a complex enterprise and government clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with authority.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills driven by the team's sales success."
