Eaton's AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a General Inspector - 2nd Shift.
The hours for this role are 2:30pm - 11:00 pm
The hourly rate for this position is $27.94 per hour.

What you'll do:
The General Inspector is responsible for performing dimensional and/or functional examination of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components and sub-assemblies, as well as parts, gears, moldings, and castings that have been purchased or fabricated in-house for a variety of life support, air-to-air refueling, and personal survival equipment systems.

In this function you will:
- Perform inspection, functional testing, type testing and examination of all product subassemblies, final assemblies, and finished products
- Check fabricated parts for correct size, configuration requirements, and material identification as prescribed in job specifications
- Use various types of test equipment, meters, etc., to verify that electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical parts and sub-assemblies meet job specifications
- Operate all product related test equipment to analyze, record, and determine acceptability of product performance
- Check all finished product, associated documentation, and sales order requirements prior to shipment
- Inspect solder and solderability on parts, sub-assemblies, components, etc.
- May perform process validations at our facility or suppliers' facilities
- May perform source inspections or verification of inspection techniques at suppliers' facilities
- Maintain complete and accurate records of inspection activities
- Perform all operations according to prescribed safety and environmental principles
- All other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S.
- person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
- 1 + years of experience with test equipment
Preferred qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, specifications, written instructions and sales order requirements
- 1 + years of experience with performing size, form, orientation, and runout measurements on standard and special design measuring equipment
- 1+ years of experience inspecting solder and solderability on a variety of parts, sub-assemblies, components, etc.
- Experience handling fragile parts, completed product, and delicate measuring equipment without damaging them
- Experience completing accurate records of inspection activities, using a computer terminal
Skills:
Position Criteria:
- 20/20 vision corrected or uncorrected in at least one eye and average to normal color vision (4 to 6 responses Titmus, B&L or AO Testing machines or equivalent)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and specifications
- Perform size, form, orientation, and runout measurements on standard and special design measuring equipment
- Inspect solder and solderability on a variety of parts, sub-assemblies, and components
- Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work with limited supervision
