Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking a Field Service Technician. This position will be located out of our Quebec City - Canada service facility.

What you'll do:

This individual will be responsible for servicing Eaton's uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and batteries and other electronic products in a low voltage environment (600V and below) at customer sites. The service area is primarily in the Quebec City region, with occasional travel to outlying areas in eastern Quebec.

Whether you work on site, from the service office in Vanier (Quebec) or from your home office, you guarantee visible, service-oriented customer support.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Performs emergency and preventive maintenance and installation on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility.
• Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing and repair of company products.
• Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
• Act as customer contact for technical and service-related problems.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) or Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology OR Red Seal (309A) Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician Certification/Ticket
• At least one (1) year's experience in power electronics, preferably in the field of UPS (uninterruptible power supplies) OR battery technologies.
• Bilingual in French and English. A technical level of English is required
• No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 80 km of Québec City, QC to be considered. Candidates must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
• Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future
• Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
• Ability to travel to US for product and safety training when necessary

Preferred Qualifications:
• Must have the ability to use drawings, mathematics, manual formulas and a variety of precision diagnostic instruments.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in all field products and processes prior to field dispatch
• Good understanding of single and three-phase circuits, analog and digital electronic circuit theory and microprocessor controls and programming
• Basic understanding of network functionality, fiber optics and sealed and wet cell battery theory and application
• Must be proficient in the use of test equipment and software
• Adheres to all published WSG safety standards

• Intermediate / advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Effective time management, prioritization and project management skills
• Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
• Understanding of the company's electrical, electronic and mechanical products and those of its competitors
• Ability to provide services and represent the company's interests in developing customer relationships to ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
