What you'll do:
Position Overview:
The Facility Engineering Intern will work hands-on with the GEIS Engineering and Operations teams to gain practical experience working on various manufacturing, operations and EHS projects. The selected candidate will play a key supporting role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the site's processes. Through the analysis of performance data, identification of inefficiencies, and the implementation of strategic solutions, the Facility Engineering Intern will support the site in achieving its goals. This role involves collaboration with various departments to foster a culture of innovation and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Maintenance Manager and Facility Engineer to develop, update and support documentation for facility operations.
- Assist with various continuous improvement and cost-out initiatives which may include participation in Kaizen or Rapid Improvement Events.
- Identify and implement shop floor process improvements.
- Assist with various manufacturing, operations and EHS projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution with a major in an engineering field.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (please don't round).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on an on-going basis without company sponsorship.
- Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or previous internship experience.
Position Criteria:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Collaborative and team focused.
- Ability to problem-solve and work independently.
