Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Fabrication Team Lead - 2nd Shift to join our team on Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI!

The hourly rate for this position is $24.50 per hour + $2.50/hr shift premium. The core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm.

What you'll do:

The Fabrication Team Lead performs duties in the areas of planning, controlling, and motivating the efforts of team members to meet customer requirements/order rates. They also ensure the Lean production process is running as designed, and meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory goals. The Team Lead regularly uses a process to track and follow up on assigned tasks. The Team Lead directs team members and communicates with other team leads within and between shifts. This position works under the guidance of the Value Stream Manager and production Supervisor, exercising initiative and independent judgment as needed.

In this function, you will:

  • Assist the Fabrication department in various duties
  • Lead a team of hourly personnel in a specific department to fulfill customer requirements and order rates by producing quality products safely and on time utilizing standard work.
  • Obtain and post information for updating S-Q-D-C-I and HR x HR boards, and any other appropriate visuals.
  • Achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, Inventory targets through daily and weekly analysis of production data as assigned.
  • Align resources, people, and work. Lead the team start-up meetings and shift changes. Conduct production and floor checks.
  • Review prior day's production-tracking documents to understand root cause of issues. Review hourly personnel's daily task assignments and create new assignments to hit Takt time.
  • Establish preventative actions to meet specific Safety & Environmental Goals and conduct regularly scheduled 6S, safety.
  • Conduct training and perform audits as required to ensure training requirements are met.
  • Fill in for Supervisor in respective department as necessary.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment at Eaton or minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment outside of Eaton
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:
• Minimum of1 year of experience in a leadership capacity preferred.
• Experience in the safe operation of various types of material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes.

Skills:

  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve specific goals. Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SAP a plus.
