The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

Eaton Corporation's GEIS division is seeking an Engineering Technical Services Manager; this position may be based at our Syracuse, NY or Highland, IL facility. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and leading the engineering technical services business function and revenue team (both domestic and international) which is comprised of an Engineered to Order (ETO) group, Technical Customer Support group and a Seismic Technical team. The incumbent will be responsible for driving the commercialization of the technical services team while refining metrics and establishing guidelines that span the business. This is a high visibility position which will lead critical interactions with internal (Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, etc.) and external (manufacturing representatives, distributors, OEM's) customers to deliver a world class level of service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Works with VP of Engineering to develop and implement a technical service strategy that enables the division's strategic growth initiatives

• Utilizes project management skills to prioritize escalations and improve timeliness on customer responses while driving revenue growth and profitability
• Establishes and executes annual stretch targets including revenue, margin and service-level commitments
• Develops and monitors team metrics (e.g. turnaround times, project influence), proactively identify gaps/opportunities, and establishes corrective actions to close
• Drive process improvements for the Engineering Technical Services and Seismic ETO/MTO teams
• Manage customer facing and customer service tool pipeline
• Maintains a workforce of highly motivated employees with a morale that is conducive to high levels of employee engagement.
• Engages with global ETO organization (internal and external to GEIS) to determine efficiencies and ways to harmonize and improve the way of working.
• Attracts, selects, develops, trains, coaches, appraises and motivates the technical support organization while placing an emphasis building succession within the team

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering, operations and/or project management role within a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership of people experience
  • Minimum 2 years Commercial/Customer Experience interfacing with internal/external customers
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration
  • Prior experience managing a remote workforce
  • Prior experience working with an Engineer to Order (ETO) group
  • Proven track record of building organizational capability and talent through effective recruiting, training, coaching, development and optimizing organizational structure
  • Experience working in a global business environment
