Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking an Engineering Manager. This position will be based out of our Richmond, VA. location.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $120,000 - $176,000 a year.

What you'll do:

The Richmond Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, overseeing the design and development of engineered-to-order products, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves developing and implementing unified engineering standards, optimizing resource management, and executing strategic plans for sustainable growth. The Engineering Manager will facilitate effective communication and collaboration between teams and stakeholders, promote continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.

In this role you will:
• Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Project Management: Oversee the design and development of engineered-to-order products, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Standardization and Alignment: Develop and implement unified engineering standards and practices across all teams to ensure consistency in design and manufacturing processes. Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager at the other site to align processes and share best practices, while maintaining a focus on the priorities of your own site.
• Resource Management: Optimize the use of resources across the two manufacturing facilities, effectively allocating tasks and responsibilities to maximize productivity. Coordinate with the other site to ensure efficient resource utilization, while prioritizing the needs of your own site.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategies for sustainable and scalable growth, identifying and addressing potential challenges and opportunities for improvement. Work with the other Engineering Manager to ensure strategic alignment across sites, while keeping your site's goals at the forefront.
• Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication between teams and stakeholders, collaborating with other departments and the Engineering Manager at the other site to ensure alignment with overall business goals. Maintain open lines of communication to ensure both sites are working towards common objectives.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, implementing best practices and new technologies to enhance engineering processes. Share continuous improvement initiatives with the other site to drive overall organizational improvement, while focusing on the specific needs of your site.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant regulations and safety standards, promoting a safe working environment across all sites. Coordinate safety practices and compliance efforts with the other Engineering Manager, while ensuring your site meets all necessary requirements.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum six (6) years' engineering and/or manufacturing management experience
  • Minimum eight (8) years' experience working in either a manufacturing, industrial, quality or design engineering position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • In-depth understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, particularly in the design and development of engineered-to-order products.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques, particularly in a multi-site environment.
  • Experience in optimizing resource allocation and utilization across multiple teams and facilities.
