What you'll do:
We are looking forward for engineering leader to shape RDE portfolio for ES EMEA Central Engineering group. Engineering leader will be responsible for implementing strategies focused around Controls, Emergency Lighting & Fire portfoio, Critical Power Systems, VAVE and Engineering common processes. Build and leverage synergies between various BU products. Provides leadership in the development strategy and roadmap for products and developments. Leader will be also responsible for driving strategic projects pertaining to cost out through VAVE and resourcing and leverage the scale of skills and expertise. S/he works closely with team mates from Eaton India Innovation Center (Pune) and various facilities in EMEA for New Product Developments, Cost out, sustaining and application engineering projects. Build Organization Capabilities - Hire and development plans for the talents for ES-EMEA business. Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and Technologies with specific foucus on making them intelligenet & smart. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define strategic roadmap for building strong breakers team and RDE portfolio on key product lines.

- R&D leader responsible for driving organic growth through development of multiple product portfolios of ES-EMEA in various range of accountabilities in engineering teams at EIIC. The revenue numbers of the product basket that the role is responsible for engineering development sum up to $1.5B
- Leads diverse product teams from EIIC location. Provides leadership for the team to meet its short and long-term goals. Define clear plan to leverage EIIC Lab and Prototype infrastructure to accelerate launches of key NPI/NTI programs for division.
- Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and services. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define roadmaps & drive Innovation / technology roadmap
- Lead innovation events to shape ideas from the team.
- Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in Electromechanical, Embedded design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for Engineers and related COE team at EIIC to develop innovative Technology, to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
- Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across groups. Manages department budget and performance to forecast.
- Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments.
- Develop and control the schedule and direct the work to effectively manage time.
- Monitor progress & achievements on projects. Provide regular reports on development & support activities.
- Manage and develop people: identify, attract and develop key engineering talent for the organization.
- Utilizes DFSS & Agile concepts / tools for new product development &/or existing product improvements. Teach, Mentor and Coach DfX for EIIC engineering community.
- Drive Functional excellence through Continuous improvement using CI methodology.
- Champion DFX , Engg. Excellence deployment ensuring project health and contribute in planning per Pre-Prolaunch requirements.
- Understand stakeholder requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- BE/ME in Mechanical / Electronics, Electrical Engineering
- 18 to 20 years of R&D experience
- Min 10+ years of experience in coaching & mentoring people
Skills:
- Experience leading a team through all stages of the product development cycle
- Experience in product development leveraging DfX methodology
- Engineering technical expertise to solve problems and make design recommendations
- Knowledge in Agile ProLaunch and PreLaunch processes
- Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in electro-mechanical design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering
- Sound Analysis Mindset and drive DP maturity to enhance NPI efficacy
- Sound knowledge of best practices in software engineering methodologies, processes, and technologies with a passion for programming
- Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with design processes, program management skills, knowledge of customer strategies, successful new product introduction experience, creative/innovative thinking
- Act as a technical mentor and expert tech reviewer in domain
- Review and approve design proposals based on requirements /statement of work and present to stakeholders/customers
