Slough, the UK

Regardless of the hiring office, your presence in our Training Center in Hengelo, The Netherlands will be required between 10 and 14 days a month, for training sessions of our Field Service Engineers workforce.
Travel rate to customers and other Training Centers in the region can reach up to 25% of the working time, mostly within Benelux, the UK, Turkey and Nordic countries.

We can offer relocation support only for EU citizens who are ready to relocate to Hengelo, The Netherlands.

As part of the EMEA Service Operations Team, the EMEA Training Specialist will lead the development of training materials and programs related to Low Voltage LV & Medium Voltage MV Power Distribution PD products.

The position will be based in the EMEA Power Distribution PD Training Center in Hengelo, The Netherlands.

The EMEA Training Specialist should have strong technical knowledge of the commissioning and maintaining of electrical Power Distribution system components, including power circuit breaker assemblies, motor control centers, unit-substation and power transformers, protective relays, and motors. Responsible for ensuring continuous improvement is applied to the training programs and supporting technical team members in the field with complex issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update training materials and programs related to LV & MV Power Distribution (PD) products.
  • Deliver theoretical and practical training to various target groups.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions and implement improvements.
  • Support technical staff with complex issues and problems.
  • Stay up to date with the latest electrical requirements, developments and innovations in the field.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Management, R&D, Marketing and Sales to identify and fulfill training needs.
  • Design and develop instructor-led and Web-based training with the Training Center team and acts as either the assistant or lead instructor for training programs given to Eaton employees, partners, Authorized Service Partners (ASPs), Contractors and End customers.
  • Be a member of the EMEA PD Training Center Team who conducts e-learning, classroom training, hands-on training and coordinates training events.
  • Create, maintain and update lesson plans and classroom-reference materials.
  • Work closely with product-line managers, factory reliability engineers and other Service regions to develop the curricula for new training programs.
  • Assist Service Sales Engineers in investigating and implementing opportunities for the training of customers.
  • Responsible for preparing and conducting training events including, but not limited to, communicating the set-up, scheduling, travel, equipment and material needs to the training coordinator.
  • Responsible for student evaluations, course evaluations, tracking course cost, actively seeking cost savings and opportunities for course improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field, alternatively, candidates must have at least an EQF Level 4 qualification in a technical-related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years' of experience with testing or field-services activities on Medium Voltage Power Distribution systems / equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical product application and technical specifications sold through distributors.
  • Ability to quickly learn the application of switchgear, transformers and motors in electrical power systems.
  • Technical knowledge of safe-work practices as described in EN 50110-1 "Operation of electrical installations"
  • Knowledge of safe-work practices as described in NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Familiarity with software offering development and management.
  • Demonstrated experience driving cross-countries initiatives.
  • Proficiency in the use of the tools required for the development of new training materials including Microsoft Office, Teams, and other Web-based training media.
  • Self-driven and able to manage activities in his/her own area of responsibility to deliver expected business impact while ensuring a close coordination with rest of team members and stakeholders.
  • Energetic, highly motivated, can-do attitude individual.
