We have an exciting, new opportunity for an EMEA Applications Engineer- Modular systems. This position is fully remote with extensive travel ( aprox 30-40%) in the EMEA region and can be based anywhere in Ireland, UK, Germany or the Netherlands.

What you'll do:

As a Modular Front End Application Engineer, you provide design assistance, value engineering, product and segment specific application support to the Eaton "Projects, Orders and Quotations" (POQ) department, xModular Business Development & Partner team, Sales Country Organizations (SCO), EPCs, Consulting engineers and Channel partners in the territory/market for pre-fabricated modular building designs. You will Provide the necessary modular design input, considering local safety and regulation requirements, technical equipment selection, calculations and quotation support, in accordance with company guidelines and procedures, to develop compliant and optimized solution for application on the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine, instruct and drive the technical quality and content of the quotation process. To read, interpret and agree on customer specifications in order to create a competitive Eaton solution including mechanical, electrical, safety and control systems
  • Work with the teams to establish relationships with electrical consulting engineers, end users and design build contractors to promote the use of Eaton products and solutions in their specifications and projects
  • Support the xModular Partner Program team with the selection, promotion and onboarding of new partners and provided ongoing support to the existing ones
  • Advise on 3rd party or special equipment materials (material cost and labor / engineering efforts) in order to provide technical competitive solutions to quotation engineers
  • Write consultant specification to drive Eaton's scope of work and also various kinds of technical and commercial documents with regard to design, testing, commissioning and delivery, in line with general accepted standards in Engineering
  • Clean hand over to Order Management and Manufacturing Engineering systems engineers to ensure technical compliance in order stage based on agreed customer solutions

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Previous work experience in pre-fabricated modular applications
  • Architecture & Technical knowledge regarding pre-fabricated modular solutions, with a strong appreciation of MV, LV, UPS, HVAC, PSA including transformers/ generators
  • Segment insights & Application, electrical and mechanical Engineering, Calculation, Studies and Manufacturing methods

  • Strong organizational, presentation, communication and time management skills
