As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, the position will be based in Dubai and will primarily work as part of the product development and design team providing the firmware development required for our Life Safety research and development projects
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with global embedded teams in the development, testing, and release of embedded Life Safety Systems
• Develop embedded software that meets coding standards and product design requirements.
• Develop test plans, automated tests and monitor test results.
• Test developed code in real hardware, utilizing Hardware-in-the loop systems.
• Follow cyber security guidelines and develop cyber secure software.
• Document and formally release embedded software following company procedures
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Engineering - Electronics/Instrumentation/Computer Science
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Embedded Firmware Development
Skills:
• Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge and experience embedded firmware development consisting of state machines, control algorithms, data structures and user interfaces.
• Extensive Experience in C / C++.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of 3-phase power systems or Life Safety systems
• Demonstrated competency using or designing systems communicating with industrial networking protocols (e.g. HTTP, TCP/IP, MQTT, Modbus, SNMP, BACnet, CAN)
• Ability to work in a lab environment around high/medium/low voltage where safety awareness is critical.
• Experience writing automated tests and working with automated test methods.
• Ability to read schematics and interpret the behavior of electrical systems.
• Knowledge of embedded real time operating system (FreeRTOS, Zephyr RTOS).
• Knowledge of modern software development processes. Experience with standard dev tools: revision control (Git), issue tracking (Jira), profilers, debugging, etc.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications.
• Position requires an individual who is self-motivated, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements.
