Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Electronics Technician.

The hourly rate for this position is $27 per hour. The hours for first shift are flexible; 5:30 am or 7:00 am - 1:30 pm or 3:30 pm

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

The Electronics Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, repairing, and troubleshooting electronic components and printed circuit boards, as specified in applicable documents, with minimal supervision, for both the OE and Repairs Value Stream.
Please note, certain duties performed by this role require this position to be subject to the guidelines of our Repair Station Certificate and are subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing.

In this function you will:
• Assemble and test electronic assemblies to scheduled delivery dates. Prioritize work to ensure business goals are met. Ensure activities are performed correctly with proper tooling and documentation being used. Requires little to no supervision.
• Use test equipment to perform in-process testing.
• Perform visual inspection, identify any defective items, and handle according to established procedures.
• Assist in process improvements.
• Support engineering on new production manufacturability.
• Adhere to operational procedures and ensure tooling is in calibration before use.
• Maintain clean and safe work area. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Be reassigned to cover workload in other areas of production in the absence of electronic work, or as necessary.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
• Associates Degree in Technical Field or equivalent of a minimum of six (6) years in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies/printed circuit boards.
• Minimum of 3 years soldering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Previous Certification in IPC J-STD001 (active or expired)
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids, Michigan will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
• Prior experience preferred in IPC certifications: 7711, A610.

Skills:

Position Criteria:
• Participate in functional cross training within all major requirements of the assigned department and demonstrate willingness to support any area of the business.
• Ability to read, understand and follow product specifications, drawings, and work orders in English
• Working knowledge of shop test equipment and testing procedures.
• Know-how and ability to work with inspection gages, multi-meters, volt meters, force scales, torque wrenches, and electrical test equipment.
• Knowledge of fundamental electrical components and mechanical physics. Ability to identify wire by color code.
• Ability to cross train on a variety of hardware/sub-assemblies and test procedures.
• Position includes standing, bending, twisting and the capability to lift / move up to 40lbs.
• Solder certification will be provided.
