Eaton's Power Components Division is currently seeking an Electronics Firmware Engineer. This position is located at our Moon Township, PA (Pittsburgh) location. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates currently residing within the US/PR.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year. This role includes a one-time $6000.00 sign-on bonus.

What you'll do:
We are seeking an innovative problem-solver to design firmware for electronic trip units used in circuit breakers for the Power Components Division. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic global team to design and improve trip units and their capabilities. You will work with a team of dedicated engineers and experience the excitement of bringing new products to life from design concept through to production launch.

This includes creating functionality related to hardware drivers, protection, metering, communication, power electronics, and user interface.
- Performs firmware design, implementation and testing tasks for embedded electronics.
- Plans work in detail at individual level, creating a robust and trackable plan, coordinated with the larger development team, including requirement definition and issue tracking.
- Review own work as well as others work in formal design and quality reviews.
- Tests own work or work of others, meeting quality and reliability goals.
- Creates fully documented designs that are easily understood by others.
- Deploys coding best practices to create efficient, scalable and maintainable code base.
- Develops a high level of technical expertise in embedded software design and over time becomes a SME.
- Provides domain expertise to product support personnel to solve field issues.
- Performs and contributes to technical research and investigations.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution, with graduation date no later than August 2025.
- Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8
- Minimum of one internship/co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months of embedded firmware development experience at the time of this application
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship now and in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
- Experienced in code sharing tools, unit test automation and multi-person development
- Experience with C and C++
Skills:
- Ability to read schematics
- Knowledge of and experience with project tracking tools such as Jira and JAMA
- Familiarity with Network communication protocols
- Strong team player; experience programming in group projects
- Strong written and oral communication skills
