Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Electrical Tester II - 3rd Shift to join our team in Fayetteville, NC!

Shift Hours: 9:00pm-7:30pm, Monday through Thursday. Overtime may exceed these hours, and can be mandatory at times.

The hourly range for this position is $21.90 - $25.00 per hour, plus a $1/hour shift premium.

What you'll do:

Plan, electronically / electrically test, and inspect Motor Control Center structures as part of final product testing in order to verify correct product function. Perform troubleshooting and repair as required. Do this according to specifications, test and working procedures. Interface with customers, internal engineering, field services and product management to support customer requests and requirements. Act as Manufacturing Consultant for Customer Witness Tests and Customer Inspections. Provide updates to Supervisors, Customer Service and Staff for products build, assembly or ship status. Participate and/or lead in the design and delivery of training for new and existing testers. Participate and lead continuous improvement efforts for the assembly and testing of MCC products.

In this function you will:

  • Work from oral and/or written instructions from supervisors and/or prints, diagrams and manufacturing information sheets.
  • Prepare apparatus for test and inspections in accordance with procedures and test specifications. Move apparatus to and from test and position as required.
  • Perform mechanical inspection and insulation tests as required.
  • Perform electrical sequence tests, according to the specifications, diagram or schematic, as required. Check out inter-related electrical circuits between separate cells where methods and procedures have been established. Check out metering circuits. Inspect and test standard and non-standard fixed assemblies.
  • Inspect cells, panels and components for appearance, omissions, damage, and electro-mechanical malfunction.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions of apparatus under test to determine causes and report findings to the supervisor, engineering, etc.
  • Check all components listed on customer orders to make sure orders are complete prior to packaging and shipment.
  • Work in conjunction with Engineering, Quality Control, etc., concerning test procedures, specifications and problems.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • An Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology/Engineering or related degree OR
    • High school diploma /GED with 1 year minimum of experience testing Low Voltage Control Distribution Assemblies.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Fayetteville, NC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Drafting experience and/or coursework in drafting principles
  • Experience training others
  • Experience in Motor Control Center final testing
  • Experience conduction witness tests with customer interface.

Position Success Criteria:

  • Good communication and teamwork skills interfacing cross functionally and potentially with external customers
  • Requires strong attention to detail and following safety and quality processes
  • Ability to read schematic drawings and trouble shoot electrical control circuits.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical engineering disciplines for product design and development
