Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer. This position will be a hybrid office (3x2) role working out of our Raleigh, NC. facility
The expected annual salary range for this role is $74,250 - $108,900 a year.

What you'll do:
Position Overview:
The design electrical engineer will participate in project teams focused on designing products such as Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, surge protection devices (SPD), batteries, Power distribution, monitoring/metering equipment and three phase electronic-based products. This role involved contributing to product expansion projects, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects, and cost-out initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and innovative solutions.

In this function, you will:
- Assist in developing comprehensive product mechanical designs, installation diagrams, and testing plans for new product development (NPD). Support the update process throughout product development to production release.
- Contribute to the development of mechanical aspects of new power distribution and monitoring products, following approved engineering specifications. Assist in testing and documenting new products per approved testing plans. Maintain design and test documentation within the engineering repository system.
- Support Senior Engineers in planning and testing, as well as in obtaining Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) certification for new and existing products. Communicate and collaborate with the engineering team, designers, and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
- Assist in recommending design modifications to improve the product line by following and supporting the ECR/ECN/ISO9001 and other quality processes. Help prepare cost reduction proposals for new and existing products based on cost trades, design improvements, and the Value-Added Value Engineering (VAVE) process.
- Cross-train on other product lines such as PDU, RPP, STS, Magnetics, and Busway. Create and maintain accurate documentation of concepts, design concepts, tool drawings, and shop orders in coordination with the Quality Assurance and Manufacturing functions.
- Inspect designs as requested to verify conformance to specifications. Recommend measures to improve production methods and product quality.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe and healthful working conditions in assigned areas. Adhere to safety rules and regulations in engineering and test areas as established by company policy. Work with Production to find more efficient methods of producing work. Participate in activities pertaining to the Safety Program. Ensure that all regulatory and internal policies are followed.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution, with graduation no later than August 2025
- Minimum of one internship/co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months of electrical engineering experience completed at the time of this application
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's and/or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Autodesk Vault, or similar programs
- Experience in design and of electrical systems and preparation of electrical drawings (schematics, powerflow, one line, etc)
- Knowledge of high-power product design
- Knowledge of three-phase power systems, power electronics, and power conversion topologies
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
