Eaton's new campus for its critical power systems in Vantaa, Finland, integrates all current activities into a much larger site. Campus is completed by the end of 2023, and the 16,500 m² site will house research and development, manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service under one roof and will create up to 100 additional jobs.

As one of the world's largest manufacturers of three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), Eaton's expansion in this area is driven by strong business growth and the demand for systems that ensure business continuity. Situated in a prime location next to the Helsinki airport, the Vantaa facility will serve as Eaton's Critical Power Solutions headquarters and a center of excellence for data centers.

What you'll do:

We are seeking a Laboratory oriented Electrical Engineer at our UPS Manufacturing Plant! As an Electrical Engineer you will work as a part of Manufacturing Technology Team in a key role for maintaining and developing business critical testing systems. This is a dynamic role that involves a blend of innovative design, rigorous testing, and meticulous maintenance to ensure the reliability and efficiency of power supply and testing systems. You will be tasked with developing electrical components and systems that are crucial for the uninterrupted operation of test systems.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Designing new electrical systems and setups
  • Improving existing designs for enhanced performance
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any electrical issues that arise, thereby minimizing downtime and maintaining production continuity
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to make sure test systems are used safely and efficiently
  • Staying abreast of technological advancements and applying this knowledge to develop innovative solutions that can improve the efficiency and sustainability of UPS manufacturing operations
  • Playing a pivotal role in the production of high-quality UPS systems that meet the evolving needs of customers and industries worldwide

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or higher education with a major in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the electrical sector

Skills:

  • Proven experience of electrical systems, preferably industrial level
  • Understanding of electrical circuits, power electronics, and control systems, coupled with practical laboratory skills to simulate and test various electrical scenarios
  • Team player and good communication skills
