Eaton is currently seeking an EHS Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Mississauga, Ontario Distribution Center. (Unionized Environment)
What you'll do:
Reporting to the Plant Manger and functionally to Electrical Sector Americas EHS Leader - Distribution Centers, HQ, and Sustainability, this position is responsible for assisting with planning, establishing, and maintaining the EHS program to ensure due diligence in compliance for all Eaton employees, visitors, and contractors. Conducts activities to help ensure Eaton compliance to all applicable health, safety and environmental laws, regulations, and standards.

In this function you will:
• Promote and collaborate with team members to identify new objectives, areas of improvement, activities and guidelines required to effectively drive reduction in environmental, health and safety (EHS) risks and hazards.
• Ensure safe work practices and compliance with EHS policies and procedures as outlined in MESH , the ISO 14001 system, or as required by relevant legislation.
• Support the function in HSE data analysis, data management, reporting, and training while providing technical expertise to the organization.
• Setting strategy to achieve Eaton's 2030 Sustainability Goals, such as energy, water, and waste reduction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of creating and delivering hands-on EHS training, including knowledge and use of behaviour-based safety techniques.
• Ability to assist in the implementation and coordination of EHS prevention programs.
• Assist with EHS communication activities.
• Actively participate in EHS audits and help address audit findings.
• Complete hazard/risk assessments and safe operating procedures. Train/educate employees on the hazards associated with their jobs.
• Actively participate as a member of the EHS committee (ex., inspections, deficiency reporting, tracking corrective actions, taking minutes, etc.).
• Compile, maintain, and report on EHS data.
• Help to identify emerging trends and areas of poor program performance. Help identify when changes to legislation occurs to ensure the EHS program stays current.
• Triage incoming EHS information and documentation.
• Maintain EHS related documents (ex., permits, inspections, sampling reports, training records, etc.).
• Assist in the completion of EHS program requirements (ex., inspections, investigations, etc.).
• Manage WSIB and ESRTW programs
• Track and maintain required weekly / monthly / annual stats and internal company measurables.
• Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Must have at least 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• College Diploma or University Degree in an EHS or related field.
• Knowledge of Occupational, Health Safety and Environmental legislation and requirements for compliance.
• Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), with the ability to quickly learn new software and technologies.
• This position does not offer relocation. Candidate must live within 80km of Mississauga.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 is an asset.
• Knowledge of environmental requirements.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
• Distribution/Warehouse operations experience.
• Certifications in First Aid, CPR
